Primary Venture Partners is a seed-stage venture capital firm dedicated to delivering exceptional support to NYC founders creating transformational businesses. By pairing meaningful investment resources with the largest portfolio impact team of any NYC seed investor, our portfolio companies have reached an industry-best seed-to-A graduation rate. As we continue to grow and scale our hands-on operational support for our companies, one way we deliver impact is through introductions to excellent candidates. We are hiring a Director of Talent to help build and scale our talent program, source and hire into critical talent pools, as well as build processes to train our founding teams on best practices in talent acquisition.

The ideal candidate has worked in a recruiting agency and has strong technical recruiting experience sourcing and hiring engineers, data scientists, and product leaders in New York City. Our team ultimately needs to introduce great talent to our founders, and the ideal candidate is a top-of-the-funnel sourcing pro. They can quickly spin up on new companies and requisitions, source candidates from their existing network, and research and outbound prospective passive candidates through creative channels. People management experience is preferred: As we scale, we will hire recruiters to sit in our portfolio and this person would be responsible for hiring, training, and managing this team.

The perfect candidate is available to work full-time in NYC and has the following characteristics:

• Strong engineering network in NYC.
• Agency recruiting background, hiring into New York City tech companies. No previous venture experience is required.
• Strong track record of successfully managing the first hiring stages including job intake, sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
• A self-starter we can trust to manage a portfolio of companies as well as create talent pipelines with high-potential candidates for future job opportunities.
• Has consistently met and exceeded hiring goals and elevates fellow team members to meet their own goals.
• Team building: Has hired, trained, and managed a team of sourcers and/or recruiters
